Ilhan Koman Vakfi (Ilhan Koman Foundation) / General Coordination
The Ilhan Koman Foundation for Arts and Cultures was created in Istanbul in 1999 with the objective of disseminating the artistic and scientific heritage of the Turkish-Swedish artist Ilhan Koman. The foundation has particularly committed itself to implementing educational activities with the aim of contributing to building intercultural and inter-social relations as well as disseminating innovative approach among the young generation.
The activities of the Ilhan Koman Foundation focus on three main areas:

• Art and Science
• Art in Public Space
• International Cooperation

These three themes have been inspired by the work, personality and vision of Ilhan Koman, who had dedicated his life to creativity, dialogue and science.

The major projects, which Ilhan Koman Foundation has implemented to date, include activities that address children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, construction of monumental artworks, as well as exhibitions that promote the artist's innovative works:

• Ilhan Koman "Walking Dervish" exhibition in the Turkish Pavilion at EXPO 2000 Hannover
• "Ilhan Koman: Retrospective," Istanbul, 2004-2005
• "Art For Our Town," Istanbul, 2005
• Ilhan Koman, artist à l'air libre" international symposium, Istanbul, 2005>
• "Istanbul By Its Children," Istanbul, 2006
• "In European Children Eyes,"Italy, France, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Turkey, 2006
• Realisation of large scale outdoor sculptures for Santralistanbul and Bogazici Universitesi, Istanbul, 2007-2008.
